The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) provides about 460,000 Australians under the age of 65 with a permanent and significant disability with funding for the reasonable and necessary supports they need to live an ordinary life.
Arrangements for the full scheme roll out of the NDIS have been reached with most state and territory governments. The NDIS Quality and Safeguards Framework (QSF) replaces the existing Quality and Safeguarding Frameworks used by individual States and Territories in a staged manner as per the following timetable:
